Budget to Widen Gap Between Rich and Poor – Sanjay Chauhan

1 min read

Shimla, Feb. 1 – This budget is a big push to neo liberal policies of BJP government. GDP growth is still negative 7.5 percent and there is no possibility of recovery. Due to neo liberal economic policies being implemented by BJP government since 2014 resulting into unemployment, agricultural crisis and fall in growth rate. In the present budget Monetization of PSUs like GAIL, ONGC, NHAI, Railway, Insurance, Banking sectors means government is trying to meet economic crisis by selling public sector to meet it’s day to day expenses.

There is no reference of MNREGA in the budget. Even the agriculture sector is totally ignored. Farmers are asking to make MSP legal but government is totally ignoring it. Agriculture cess on petrol and diesel will increase inflation more and put additional burden on people.

This will make rich more richer and poor more poorer.
Himachal Pradesh is totally ignored. Nothing has been spoken about railway and 69 National Highways announced during 2017 assembly elections. Horticulture is totally ignored and nothing is done to increase import duty on apple and no mention of MSP for fruits and vegetables grown in the state.
