Budget 2026–27 Focuses on Strengthening Infrastructure in Himachal and Across India: Anurag Singh Thakur

Himachal Pradesh, Feb 18: MP Anurag Singh Thakur said the Union Budget 2026–27 reflects the Centre’s strong commitment towards building world-class infrastructure, highlighting investments in highways, railways, logistics networks and strategic connectivity corridors. He stated that increased capital expenditure and financial transfers, including ₹13,949 crore in tax devolution for Himachal Pradesh, will boost economic growth and employment in hill regions.

Thakur pointed to major projects such as the Bhanupalli–Bilaspur–Manali–Leh railway line, expansion of national highways under Bharatmala, modernization of railway stations under the Amrit Bharat scheme and improved connectivity through Vande Bharat services. He also stressed the need for timely state approvals and land clearances to ensure faster execution of centrally funded projects, adding that infrastructure-led development will strengthen tourism, logistics and regional economic growth in Himachal Pradesh.
