Shimla, August 17: Auckland House School for Boys (AHSB), Shimla, has carved a proud chapter in school sports history with its stellar performance at the North Zone CISCE Basketball Tournament 2025, hosted at Trinity School, Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
The Under-19 Boys’ Team clinched the bronze medal, defeating Gurdaspur in the third-place playoff after a spirited run that saw them overpower Chandigarh with a thumping 47–23 win before bowing out to a formidable Delhi NCR side in the semifinals.
The Under-17 Boys’ Team too displayed outstanding resilience, finishing among the top four out of 11 participating schools. After toppling Hoshiarpur in the quarterfinals, they lost narrowly to Ludhiana by just one point (39–38) in a nail-biting semifinal.
Adding to the school’s glory, three promising players—Arhan Shah, Sushant Mukkar, and Samarth Thakur (standby)—have been selected to represent North Zone Himachal Pradesh at the National CISCE Basketball Championship.
Behind this success lies the rigorous training and mentorship of Head Coach Navneet Thakur, whose guidance has sharpened the boys’ skill and discipline on the court.
The Principal, Reuben John, lauded the players, saying, “Our boys have once again proved that Auckland House is a cradle of all-round excellence, where sports and co-curriculars are valued as highly as academics. Their hard work, spirit, and team effort have set a benchmark for others to follow.”
This victory not only strengthens AHSB’s reputation as a sports powerhouse in Himachal but also signals the rise of a new generation of basketball talent ready to shine at the national stage.
