Books by Veteran Writer Jagdish Kashyap Released

Shimla, December 25, 2025:
Two new books by senior writer, educator and social activist Jagdish Kashyap—the short story collection Umeed and the poetry collection Sach Keh Doon To Chaloon—were formally released at the historic Gaiety Theatre, Shimla. The event was organised by the Himalaya Sahitya Sanskriti evam Paryavaran Manch in collaboration with the Himachal Language Art and Culture Academy.
The ceremony was presided over by Vijay Kumar, Special Secretary (Tourism & Civil Aviation), Government of Himachal Pradesh. Prominent literary figures including writer S. R. Harnot, senior critic Hemraj Kaushik, and young poet Rajan Tanwar were present on the dais.
On the occasion of completing 75 years, Jagdish Kashyap was also honoured for his long-standing contribution to literature and education. Speakers highlighted that creativity has no age limit and praised Kashyap’s continued literary engagement. A multilingual poetry session featuring senior and young writers in Hindi, English and Pahari added vibrancy to the programme.
