Body Found in the Sutlej River Near Shimla Identified as Sandeep Kapoor

Shimla, September 16 – The identity of the body recovered from the Sutlej River near Shimla, close to the capital, has been established. The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Kapoor, a resident of Mashobra. According to the initial investigation by the police, the young man was in a state of mental distress following his father’s death, and there is suspicion of suicide. However, the police are conducting a comprehensive inquiry into all aspects of the case.
The police received information on Friday evening that a body was found in the Sutlej River near the Anu region. Acting on this information, the police arrived at the scene. Upon identifying the body, it was revealed that a report had been filed by Narish Kapoor, who reported the disappearance of his brother Sandeep Kapoor on September 7. Subsequently, Narish Kapoor identified the body as that of his deceased brother Sandeep Kapoor (34).
The police were informed that the deceased was under mental stress following his father’s death. The body was subjected to a post-mortem examination at the Civil Hospital in Sunni. Currently, the police are taking action under Section 174 of the CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) to investigate the case further.
