BJP’s Randhir Sharma Criticizes Himachal Government Over Samose Controversy
1 min readShimla, November 08, 2024: BJP legislator and Media Department in-charge, Randhir Sharma, lashed out at the Himachal Pradesh government, claiming that while the people of the state are struggling, the government seems to be more concerned about the Chief Minister’s samosas than any developmental work. Referring to the controversy surrounding the samosas intended for Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Sharma remarked that it was a trivial issue overshadowing critical matters like development and governance.
The incident occurred on October 21 when three boxes of samosas and cake were ordered for the CM’s visit to the CID headquarters in Shimla. Due to a mix-up, the snacks were mistakenly served to his security personnel. A CID investigation labeled the mistake as an “anti-government act,” which has further sparked political debate. The investigation revealed that confusion arose when police officers failed to confirm that the snacks were meant for the CM, leading to the mishandling of the order.
Sharma criticized the government for focusing on such insignificant matters while neglecting the state’s real issues like infrastructure, law and order, and development. He called for a serious reconsideration of the state’s priorities.
