BJP’s Rajeev Saizal Slams AAP Over Delhi Liquor Policy Scam

1 min read

Shimla, February 26: BJP leader and former minister Dr. Rajeev Saizal has launched a scathing attack on the AAP government following the CAG report on Delhi’s liquor policy, claiming that the policy change led to a ₹4,400 crore scam.

Saizal stated that Delhi CM Rekha Gupta recently tabled the report in the Delhi Assembly, revealing that the policy shift resulted in losses exceeding ₹2,900 crore. He accused Arvind Kejriwal of favoring his close associates in the liquor business, reducing the number of vendors from 101 to just 12, with three of them controlling 71% of the trade. These individuals later faced arrest alongside Kejriwal.

He also pointed out that AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia, overruled officials to grant excise duty waivers during COVID-19 restrictions, further proving corruption.

Drawing a parallel, Saizal alleged that Himachal Pradesh under Congress is witnessing similar corruption, with the state’s assets being sold off under the ‘Himachal On Sale’ narrative. He warned that the public is increasingly frustrated with the Congress government’s decisions.
