Shimla, March 12, 2025 – BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal has strongly criticized the Congress party, alleging that it cannot digest the public service being provided by AIIMS Bilaspur. Addressing the media, Bindal stated that AIIMS has benefited over half of Himachal’s population, yet Congress seems uncomfortable with its success.
He highlighted that Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has been consistently supporting AIIMS Bilaspur, which has emerged as the best healthcare institution in the state. Over ₹3,000 crore has been invested in AIIMS Bilaspur so far, making it a model healthcare institute. Bindal warned that any attempt by Congress to question AIIMS will be met with a strong response.
Raising concerns over the state government’s closure of institutions, Bindal questioned whether AIIMS is also on Congress’ target list. He accused the Congress party of spreading misleading propaganda against AIIMS and orchestrating a conspiracy similar to its approach with the HIMCARE scheme.
He cited the case of a cancer patient in Bilaspur who had been waiting for a PET scan for three months at Tanda Medical College but got immediate treatment when Nadda inaugurated the PET scan facility at AIIMS Bilaspur. Bindal also praised former minister Anurag Thakur, MLA Randhir Sharma, and Trilok Jamwal for their efforts in strengthening AIIMS.
On March 6, Nadda’s visit proved historic for Himachal as he inaugurated a cancer treatment facility, the state’s first ₹20 crore virology lab, three Jan Aushadhi Kendras, and a PET scan center, providing significant healthcare advancements for the people of Himachal.
