Shimla, February 2, 2025 – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur announced that the BJP legislative party will boycott the upcoming MLA Priority Meeting on February 3 and 4, citing the Sukhu government’s “deliberate neglect and political vendetta” against opposition MLAs.
Jairam Thakur stated that none of the BJP MLAs’ proposed works have been given priority in the last two years, making the meeting meaningless. Instead, the Congress government is allegedly favoring rejected and defeated Congress leaders over elected representatives.
He also accused the government of harassing BJP MLAs and their families using police power. BJP leaders are reportedly being falsely implicated in cases and subjected to hours-long police interrogations.
Thakur further alleged that the Sukhu government is systematically excluding BJP MLAs from official inauguration events, erasing their names from plaques, and using administrative power to suppress the opposition. He warned government officials misusing their authority that “power is not permanent,” urging them to follow the law.
