BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal Describes Devastation in Rampur and Ani Due to Natural Disaster

1 min read

Shimla – BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal has detailed the extensive damage caused by a natural disaster in the Rampur and Ani regions. The catastrophic event particularly devastated the village of Samej, where 22 houses were swept away by a torrent of water, stones, debris, and large trees. Dr. Bindal expressed profound grief over the loss, noting that 36 people remain missing with little hope of their survival. Among the missing are three girls who were national volleyball players.

In the Ganvi area, thousands of tons of debris filled the Ganvi stream, destroying six well-constructed houses completely. The area where these houses stood is now covered with large rocks, erasing any trace of the former homes. Thanks to repeated sirens from the Ganvi power project, residents evacuated in time, preventing any loss of life.

Similarly, in Baghi, the disaster obliterated eight houses with a mix of wood, stones, and mud. Fortunately, timely phone warnings allowed residents to escape, avoiding fatalities.

Dr. Bindal attributed the widespread destruction in Samej, Ganvi, Baghi, and Kedus to a cloudburst on Shrikhand Mountain, causing a massive volume of water to surge through various streams at high speed, resulting in significant damage.
