BJP State Chief Binds Allegations on Congress for Weakening Constitutional Institutions

1 min read

Shimla, August 11 – BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal accused Congress leaders, including Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh, and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, of conspiring to weaken the country’s core constitutional institutions while publicly invoking the Constitution. Bindal alleged that Congress is using the Special Integrated Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls — a regular Election Commission process — as a political weapon to create unrest and promote vote-bank politics in favour of infiltrators.

He stated that Congress leaders, especially Rahul Gandhi, frequently talk about safeguarding the Constitution but are the ones engaging in actions most detrimental to it. According to Bindal, the Congress party, suffering from repeated electoral defeats in 2014, 2019, and 2024, has become directionless and reactionary, with no clear policy or agenda.

Bindal further criticised Congress for repeatedly questioning the credibility of EVMs, raising unfounded allegations on defence deals like Rafale, siding with China during border disputes, and undermining the nation’s sovereignty. He said the judiciary’s remarks against such political conduct have been rare in independent India and that the public is observing these actions closely.
