BJP Slams Himachal Govt Over Media Restrictions

Shimla, November 22, 2024: BJP spokesperson Vivek Sharma accused the Himachal Pradesh government of suppressing media freedom under the guise of a “new regime of dominance.” Sharma criticized Media Advisor Naresh Chauhan, alleging that the government is targeting journalists with censorship, legal notices, and restrictions on publishing official photos, indicating a declared “media emergency.”

Sharma highlighted unresolved allegations against the government, including links to various mafias. He also pointed out the court’s decision to shut down 18 HPTDC hotels due to a lack of profitability plans, blaming government negligence. Sharma demanded transparency and accountability, questioning the government’s sensitivity to public concerns raised by the media.
