BJP Seeks White Paper on Shimla MC’s Disaster Spending

Shimla, Sept 5: BJP’s Shimla Mandal dispatched 200 relief kits (77 from Shimla Mandal, total 200 from Shimla district) to Chamba, flagged off by State General Secretary Sanjeev Katwal. Party candidate Sanjay Sood demanded that Mayor Surinder Chauhan issue a white paper on the Municipal Corporation’s and state funds spent during the disaster period, alleging mismanagement and inflated works (including failed retaining walls at Kanlog and Benmore). BJP leaders said statements won’t help and called for on-ground action and full expenditure disclosure. Leaders present included District President Keshav Chauhan, Sanjay Sood, Suresh Bhardwaj, Ravi Mehta, Kiran Bawa, Sanjeev, Kimi and Shubh.
