BJP MLA Deep Raj Slams Congress Over Disaster Relief Fund Mismanagement

BJP leader and Karsog MLA Deep Raj has accused the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government of misusing disaster relief funds. He alleged that an area-specific budget would prevent the ruling party from diverting money arbitrarily, ensuring transparency and targeted aid for disaster-affected regions. Deep Raj criticized PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh for misunderstanding the concept of “area-specific” funds, emphasizing that such funds are meant strictly for affected areas.

He further claimed that the government has misappropriated central aid of over ₹5150 crore received for 2023 disaster relief and has failed to provide proper assistance to the victims. Deep Raj also condemned the use of public machinery for private work by Congress leaders and demanded accountability from the PWD minister. He urged the minister to focus on restoring damaged roads and ensuring prompt relief to affected people instead of misleading the public.
