1 min read

Shimla, 1 July 2025: Senior BJP leaders Anurag Thakur, Jairam Thakur, and Srikant Sharma launched a fierce political offensive against the Congress party, claiming that the ruling party is disorganized, ineffective, and on the verge of collapse in Himachal Pradesh.

MP Anurag Thakur stated that if elections were held today, Congress wouldn’t win even 8 out of 68 seats, adding that BJP’s new state president, Dr. Rajeev Bindal, has energized the cadre. He also criticized the law and order situation in the state, referring to an FIR filed against Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh for allegedly assaulting an NHAI officer during a site visit in Shimla.

Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur echoed similar sentiments, accusing the Congress government of underperforming and merely halting development. He questioned the party’s organizational strength, noting that Congress has only a state president and lacks functional district units and office bearers.

BJP state in-charge Srikant Sharma said that with over 18 lakh primary members, the BJP is stronger than ever. He accused the Congress government of misusing central funds and vowed to make Congress forfeit its deposits at every booth under the campaign “Mera Booth Sabse Majboot.”
