BJP Holds Plantation Drive in Shimla Rural

Questions Congress on Development Claims

Shimla, August 7, 2025:
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted a plantation drive in Tara Devi Panchayat (Booth Nos. 121, 122, 123) under Shimla Rural, with BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Siddharthan gracing the event. The drive was part of the party’s larger push for environmental protection and grassroots outreach.

Addressing the gathering, senior BJP leader and candidate Ravi Mehta emphasized the need for planting 100 trees in every panchayat to protect the environment. He alleged that the Congress government is misleading the public by inaugurating and taking credit for projects initiated during the previous BJP regime.

Mehta directly questioned Minister Vikramaditya Singh, asking,

“Who brought the BDO office, vegetable market, and multi-purpose parking to Tutu? Wasn’t it the BJP government?”

He added that the construction of 9 roads in areas like Mandolghat, Dadgi, Himri, Dhami, and Jabri was also sanctioned under PMGSY during the BJP era, not by the Congress government.

He criticized the current government’s alleged vindictive attitude, citing the case of 15 women from Kheda Panchayat who were booked for protesting against a liquor shop.

“This is a revenge-driven, anti-people government that registers fake FIRs. Arrogance and autocracy are in the DNA of the Congress,” he said.

The event saw participation from State Media In-Charge Karan Nanda, District President Keshav Chauhan, District Secretary Alka Kanwar, Ravi Mehta, Randeep Kanwar, and several other BJP workers and supporters.
