Shimla, August 18 – BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal criticized the Congress government for failing to open apple collection centres in Himachal Pradesh even after August 15, calling it a matter of serious concern for orchardists.

To address the issue, BJP has constituted a committee that will survey apple-producing regions and prepare a report highlighting the losses faced by growers. The same committee will also look into alleged irregularities in APMC operations.

The committee will be headed by former minister and BJP state vice-president Govind Thakur, with members including MLA Balbir Verma, spokespersons Chetan Bragta and Sandipni Bhardwaj, Arun Faalta, Yashwant Singh Negi, Nihal Chand Sharma, Heera Lal, Amit Sood, and former APMC chairman Naresh Sharma.
