BJP denies ticket to Maheshwra Singh

Shimla, Oct 25 – In an unprecedented development, the BJP high command on Tuesday denied a ticket to Maheshra Singh, former MP from the Kullu assembly constituency, and gave a party ticket to Narottam Thakur, a former lecturer. This follows the filing of nomination papers by Hiteshwar Singh, the son of Maheshwara Singh from Banjar’s seat of Kullu district as an independent candidate.

This annoyed the party’s high command and as such the ticket of Maheshwar Singh was withdrawn. The Kullu seat is facing another development as another senior party leader; Ram Singh has also filed his papers from the Kullu seat. Efforts were on to persuade him to withdraw from the contest but have failed so far.
