BJP Criticizes Congress Leadership Following Election Wins
1 min readShimla, July 16, 2024 – BJP State General Secretary Bihari Lal Sharma emphasized the party’s significant victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections, securing all four parliamentary seats in Himachal Pradesh. Sharma highlighted that the BJP’s success, particularly in the Mandi parliamentary seat, reflects the public’s endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Sharma criticized the Congress party for its continuous disparagement of the central government, asserting that the electorate ultimately favored Modi’s governance. Despite the concerted efforts and intensive campaigning by Congress leaders, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, the party failed to make an impact in the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency.
Highlighting the dismal performance of Congress in the by-elections, Sharma noted that out of three by-elections in Hamirpur district, Congress lost two. He mentioned the case of Ashish securing public support in Hamirpur and Inder Dutt Lakhanpal’s victory in Barsar, despite the government’s extensive but ineffective campaigning.
Sharma stated that the Congress’s defeat in its stronghold raises serious questions about its leadership. He pointed out that while the BJP increased its presence in both Lok Sabha and the state assembly, the Congress’s presence has dwindled significantly, making the party almost invisible in the Lok Sabha and reducing its seats in the state assembly from 43 to 40.
In conclusion, Sharma reiterated that the clear winner in the elections was the BJP, while the Congress emerged as the undisputed loser.
