GST on Carton Boxes Reduced from 18% to 12%: Central Government Praised
Shimla, Former BJP State President and MP Suresh Kashyap has welcomed the GST Council’s recommendation to reduce GST on carton boxes from 18% to 12%. He expressed gratitude to Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for this commendable decision by the central government.
On the other hand, Suresh Kashyap criticized the Congress Party, accusing its leaders, ministers, and allied Chief Ministers of working with a vengeful attitude. He condemned the recent incident in which a bulldozer was sent to the house of former MLA and BJP candidate Ashish Sharma in Hamirpur, the home district of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Kashyap labeled this act as unfortunate and shameful.
Kashyap accused the Chief Minister of establishing a precedent of targeting those who speak against him or attempt to contest elections independently. He highlighted various instances of alleged misuse of power, including orchestrating raids on political opponents’ homes, issuing false challans, blocking access to their residences, and shutting down businesses. According to Kashyap, such low-level politics have never been seen before in Himachal Pradesh.
The BJP has condemned this event as a disgraceful act by the government. Kashyap stated that sending a bulldozer to someone’s house to cause destruction is not acceptable and reveals the thuggish nature of the Chief Minister. He implied that when the Chief Minister behaves in this manner, it naturally reflects poorly on his party leaders.
Ashish Sharma himself reported that Public Works Department employees removed the speed breakers installed on the main road outside his residence. These speed breakers were put in place to ensure safe crossing for visitors and prevent accidents. Kashyap claimed that this petty mentality shows that the government is now jeopardizing public safety and interests.
