BJP Assembly Strength Increases to 28: Kashyap

Dharamshala – Former BJP state president and MP stated that when the Congress government was formed in Himachal Pradesh, they had 40 assembly members and 3 independents, making a total of 43. In comparison, BJP had only 25 assembly members. However, following significant wins in the Lok Sabha elections and three assembly by-elections, BJP’s strength has increased to 28, while Congress stands at 40.

Kashyap criticized the Congress government for failing to deliver on its promises. He highlighted that upon taking office, the Congress government claimed that the state treasury was empty, spending the early months of 2023 justifying this situation. He accused the government of misleading the public regarding the state’s debt, pointing out that a significant portion of the debt was inherited from the previous Congress administration.
