BJP Accuses Congress of Greater Harm to the Nation than the British: Bindal Claims
2 min readUna, July 19, 2024 – During a BJP executive meeting held at Una Royal Castle, BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal made strong allegations against the Congress party, claiming that it has inflicted more damage on the country than the British ever did.
Dr. Bindal emphasized that while the BJP has been a pro-people government, the Congress has consistently acted against public interests. He pointed out that former Chief Ministers like Shanta Kumar, Prem Kumar Dhumal, and Jairam Thakur are remembered for their contributions to water, roads, and public welfare, respectively. In contrast, he accused the current Congress government in Himachal Pradesh of increasing inflation, closing institutions, and dismantling welfare schemes.
Dr. Bindal described the Congress-led government as corrupt and anti-people, suggesting that it is riddled with scandals involving single tenders, inflated contracts, and various sectors like land, energy, and GST. He highlighted a deteriorating law and order situation, citing over seven shooting incidents, more than 250 murders, 3000 drug-related cases, and over 950 instances of crimes against women during the current administration’s tenure.
Further criticizing the Congress, Dr. Bindal labeled it a government of friends and a dynasty-driven party. He claimed that the Congress has historically engaged in selling the country, promoting division, enforcing emergency rule, and spreading casteism.
Dr. Bindal praised BJP workers for their dedication, which he credited for the party’s successes in eight elections across the Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha, and state assemblies. He announced that the BJP would launch a decisive campaign against drug abuse, with party workers committing to raising awareness and combating this issue in society.
The meeting saw the attendance of key BJP leaders including National Vice President Saudan Singh, In-Charge Shrikant Sharma, Co-In-Charge Sanjay Tandon, MPs Anurag Thakur, Suresh Kashyap, Rajiv Bhardwaj, Harsh Mahajan, Indu Goswami, Sikandar Kumar, and General Secretaries Siddharthan, Bihari Lal Sharma, Trilok Kapoor, among others.
