Lefroy House Triumphs with the Coveted Cock House Trophy

Shimla, Oct 16 — The historic Irwin Hall at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, echoed with pride and tradition as the school held its much-anticipated Annual Speech Day on Thursday, 16th October 2025. The distinguished Chief Guest, Mr. Ashok Tiwari (I.P.S), Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh, was received at 9:00 A.M., marking the formal beginning of the day’s proceedings.

Following the arrival of visitors, staff, and prefects, the programme commenced with an invocation, setting a dignified tone for the ceremony. The Headmaster’s Address warmly welcomed the gathering and offered reflections on the school’s achievements over the past year. This was followed by an articulate and heartfelt speech by the School Captain, capturing the spirit, camaraderie, and aspirations of the Cottonian community.

The Annual Speech Day also included a formal recognition of student achievements, beginning with the Prep and Junior School, and followed by the Main School, acknowledging excellence in academics, leadership, co-curriculars, and service.
A highlight of the day was the announcement of the winner of the Cock House Trophy—the school’s most prestigious inter-house award. In a moment of celebration and school spirit, Lefroy House was declared the winner, applauded for its all-round excellence, discipline, and dedication throughout the year.

Delivering the Chief Guest’s Address, Mr. Ashok Tiwari commended the school’s commitment to building character and nurturing responsible future citizens. He encouraged the students to lead lives guided by integrity, service, and resilience.
The event concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks by the Headmaster, followed by the singing of the School Song, leaving everyone in attendance with a renewed sense of pride in the enduring legacy of Bishop Cotton School.
