Bindal Slams Congress for Celebrating “Failures” in Bilaspur

1 min read

Shimla, Dec 10 : BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal criticized the Congress government for planning a celebration of its two-year tenure in Bilaspur, calling it a “celebration of failures.” Addressing the BJP’s protest rally, Bindal questioned what achievements Congress had made in Bilaspur to justify such a grand event, especially in light of incidents like the recent gunfire outside the DC office involving mafias.

Bindal accused Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of failing to deliver on promises made to unemployed youth. “The Congress promised one lakh government jobs in its first cabinet meeting and five lakh employment opportunities. Two years later, not a single government job has been created. Instead, the government has dismissed 10,000 employees who were already serving. Is this what you’re celebrating—adding salt to the wounds of the unemployed?” he asked.

Highlighting mismanagement in essential services, Bindal said, “HRTC fares have increased, services have declined, and ration depots are often empty. Poor students no longer receive uniforms, and primary health centers, patwar circles, sub-tehsils, SDM offices, and public works departments have been shut. Is this failure something to celebrate?”

Bindal also criticized the government’s focus on self-promotion, saying, “The funds sent by the Centre are being wasted on advertising the Chief Minister rather than benefiting the people.” He asserted that the Congress has no moral right to celebrate its tenure, which has brought only hardships to Himachal Pradesh.
