Bindal Criticizes Sukhu Government for Nepotism and Inefficiency
2 min readDeharagopipur (Kangra): BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a scathing attack on the Sukhu government, accusing it of achieving nothing in its 18 months of rule except for making excuses. Bindal remarked that Himachal is currently being run by a government of “husbands, wives, and friends.” Speaking to journalists in Dhaliara, Bindal said that internal conflicts are brewing within Congress, particularly over the Chief Minister’s wife being given a ticket, which could erupt into a major issue after July 10. He further stated that a compromised Chief Minister cannot ensure public welfare.
Bindal criticized the government for shutting down job-providing institutions despite promising 100,000 jobs annually. He highlighted the law and order situation in the state, mentioning a recent incident involving the arrest of a close aide’s son for allegedly hiring a sharpshooter from another state. Bindal claimed that crimes such as murder, theft, and drug-related offenses are on the rise, with the government providing protection to the perpetrators.
He also accused the Chief Minister of distributing cabinet ranks and other positions to over two dozen friends while neglecting the poor. Bindal questioned how development could be achieved when the government constantly complains about an empty treasury. He blamed the Chief Minister for the ongoing by-elections, stating that if the resignations of three independent MLAs had been accepted in time, these elections could have been held along with the Lok Sabha elections, reducing the burden on the public.
Bindal asserted that despite Sukhu’s claims of being a strong Chief Minister, the BJP won all four Lok Sabha seats and even gained ground in Sukhu’s own constituency. He accused the Congress government of breaking all records in borrowing, with plans to take on an additional INR 9,000 crore debt after already borrowing INR 30,000 crore in 18 months. Bindal claimed that the central government provided INR 4,000 crore in aid during the disaster, but the state government promoted nepotism even in the distribution of relief.
Bindal concluded by asserting that the BJP would win all three seats in the upcoming by-elections. The event was also attended by Dehra election in-charge Vipin Singh Parmar, co-incharge Bikram Thakur, coordinator Rakesh Jambal, state media co-incharge Vishva Chakshu, district president Sanjeev Sharma, and others.
