Bikram Thakur Alleges Massive Scam in Pehkuwala Solar Power Project

Dehra, August 7, 2025:
Former minister and Jaswan-Pragpur MLA Bikram Singh Thakur has made serious allegations against the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Himachal Pradesh government, terming the Pehkuwala Solar Power Project in Una district a “lab of scams.” Addressing a press conference in Dhalyara, he claimed the project is soaked in corruption and has become a symbol of administrative failure.

Thakur revealed that the project was sanctioned based on a DPR prepared in just 15 days, initially estimated at ₹100 crore, but has already consumed over ₹240 crore. Shockingly, 99% of payments have been made despite the poor ground-level status. He criticized the approval of the project in a water-prone zone without proper elevation or drainage, leading to complete submergence during the August 2 rainfall and machinery failure.

He also exposed that 4 out of 10 inverters are non-functional, and blamed this on criminal administrative negligence, not just technical fault. Thakur held the government morally accountable for the death of project worker Late Vimal Negi and demanded a CBI or judicial inquiry.

Calling on citizens to not stay silent, he urged transparency and accountability in public projects. He also welcomed the new BJP Dehra executive committee and assured party workers of forthcoming responsibilities.
