Bihari Accuses Leaders of Ignoring Warning Signs Before Partition

Shimla: During a district-level event marking the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, BJP state spokesperson Bihari Lal Sharma criticized the leaders for their handling of the partition. Sharma referenced a letter by Mountbatten’s press advisor, Allan Campbell-Johnson, which warned of potential communal violence if partition occurred. Sharma questioned why no efforts were made to prevent the anticipated violence and accused leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru of hastily agreeing to partition to remove Mohammad Ali Jinnah, leading to immense suffering and bloodshed.
