BCS Marks 165th Annual Sports Day with Six New Records

The prestigious heritage school, recently ranked as India’s Number 1 legacy boys’ boarding school by *EducationWorld*, showcased its sporting excellence as students displayed immense strength, skill, and discipline.
The event commenced with Sports Captain Sarthak K lighting the BCS Olympic torch, followed by an impressive marchpast led by students saluting the Chief Guest—an alumnus and current Colonel in the Indian Army. Upholding BCS’s philosophy of character development, the day featured rigorous track and field events, gymnastics, and traditional displays of athletic prowess.
Director of Sports, Mr. Gurprit Singh, praised the record-breaking efforts that ranged from the youngest to the oldest student competitors, a feat not seen since 2002. Ibbetson House won the overall sports award and Proficiency Cup, while Mukul S. of Class 8 secured the Victor Ludorum Cup as the day’s Champion.
The highlight of the day was the daring ‘hoop of fire’ display by gymnasts, showcasing months of dedicated training and exceptional skill. BCS’s sports-centric curriculum reflects its long-standing tradition of promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and perseverance among students.
