Bahra University’s School of Law Organizes Expert Lecture on Legal Implications of GST

Shimla, March 11: The School of Law, Bahra University, successfully hosted an expert lecture on “Legal Implications of GST: Evolution, Impact, and Future Prospects.” The session provided in-depth insights into the complexities of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), a landmark reform in India’s taxation system.
Ms. Poonam Thakur (HPRS), Assistant Commissioner, State Taxes and Excise Cum GST Enforcement & Nodal Officer, District Shimla, graced the event as the keynote speaker. With her vast experience in taxation and regulatory enforcement, she delivered a comprehensive analysis of the legal framework, enforcement mechanisms, and future trajectory of GST. She also highlighted the challenges and opportunities in GST implementation, particularly its impact on businesses and legal professionals.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Prof. (Dr.) Akhilesh Ranaut, Dean, School of Law, who emphasized the significance of GST in shaping India’s economic and legal landscape. The session witnessed active participation from faculty members and students during an engaging interactive discussion, where thought-provoking questions on taxation laws, compliance mechanisms, and recent amendments were addressed.
