B.Ed Trainees Raise Awareness Among Villagers to Prevent Forest Fires
1 min readSolan, June 5, 2024 – On the occasion of World Environment Day, the NSS unit of LR B.Ed College organized an awareness campaign to educate villagers about preventing forest fires. The event included participation from all teachers and trainees, who cleaned and planted new trees in the department. Principal Dr. Nisha of the B.Ed department highlighted the importance of forests and the necessity of preventing forest fires while encouraging extensive tree plantation.
Trainees created posters related to environmental conservation and, in collaboration with Jabli village’s head, Kusum Thakur, organized a rally to raise awareness about the increasing heat and forest fire incidents in Himachal Pradesh. Through the rally, the trainees informed villagers about the environmental damage caused by forest fires.
The campaign also included educating shopkeepers in Jabli village about proper waste disposal, cleanliness, and environmental protection. In honor of World Environment Day, all teachers and students pledged to plant a tree during the upcoming Van Mahotsav. This initiative underscores the commitment of the LR B.Ed College community to environmental preservation and sustainable practices.
