Nahan, July 28: Strengthening traditional healthcare systems and ensuring wellness in rural Himachal Pradesh, the AYUSH department is operating a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in district Sirmaur. Launched in December 2024, the MMU is fully equipped with essential medicines, diagnostic tools, and staffed by an AYUSH medical officer, pharmacist, yoga instructor, and awareness resources.

Over 30 MMU camps have been held so far, especially in the remote areas of the Shillai Assembly segment, benefiting 1,592 people — including 497 men, 756 women, and 339 children. The services offered include OPD consultations, medicine distribution, basic diagnostics like blood pressure and sugar level checks, and awareness and yoga sessions.

District AYUSH Officer Dr. Indu Sharma affirmed the department’s commitment to making traditional health services accessible at the doorstep of underserved communities. Regular follow-up and patient monitoring are also part of the programme, along with proper data maintenance.
