An awareness campaign organized under the joint aegis of the Directorate of Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities, Specially Abled Persons, and the Himachal Pradesh Information and Public Relations Department commenced today. Artists from the Mannat Kala Manch, Kullu, conveyed messages about state welfare schemes and anti-drug initiatives through folk songs, cultural performances, and plays in Naggar block’s Soyal and Nathaan Panchayats.

Performances included group songs like “Ekta Hamara Dharm Hai”, traditional Kullu folk dances, and the play “Taune Mama Ri Fanda”, which highlighted welfare schemes for Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, and minorities.

Coordinator Navneet Bhardwaj shared insights about government initiatives aimed at eradicating social evils like untouchability. Programs such as the Inter-Caste Marriage Incentive Scheme offering ₹50,000, Social Security Pension (75,950 new cases approved), and the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Scheme (benefiting 30,929 women) were discussed. Other schemes like Adarsh Gram Sukhashray Complex, Rajiv Gandhi E-Taxi Scheme, and Widow Remarriage Scheme were also explained.

The campaign saw active participation from local representatives, including Panchayat heads and villagers, making the event a significant step in spreading awareness about the government’s welfare initiatives and the importance of combating drug abuse.
