Aware youth against drug abuse: Guv to Bharat Scouts and Guide
1 min readMandi, Mar 15 – State Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Himachal Pradesh Amarjit Sharma called on Governor, Shiv Pratap Shukla, who is also the Chief Patron of Bharat Scouts and Guides at Raj Bhavan here today.
On the occasion, the Governor said that Bharat Scouts and Guides not only works for character building and skill development among the students but also inculcates the spirit of service. He expressed contentment that the Rovers and Rangers were rendering their services individually and collectively as well in redressing various issues of the society selflessly and with a sense of sacrifice.
Shri Shukla said that today drug addiction was the major problem in the society which was affecting the young generation. To deal with this problem, every individual and organization needs to work with determination and dedication. He said that the teachers associated with Bharat Scouts and Guides also need to aware the youth against drug abuse. He emphasized on expanding the membership of the organization so that more and more students could join and work with it.
On the occasion, the Badge of Bharat Scouts & Guides was pinned to the Governor.
Director, Higher Education and State Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Amarjeet Sharma apprised the Governor about various activities of the scouts and guides. He said that at present about 40 thousand scouts were associated with the organization in the State and its ‘open units’ were also functioning. The organization’s training centre is also set up at Rewalsar in Mandi district, he added.
