Audit Trainee Officers Meet Shimla DC, Applaud Local Initiatives

Shimla, July 30, 2025 –

Trainee officers from the 2024 batch of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS), currently undergoing training at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts in Shimla, paid a courtesy visit to Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap. The batch, comprising 19 officers including two from Bhutan, engaged in a detailed discussion on district administration practices, revenue systems, digitization, audit processes, and transparency in governance.

DC Kashyap emphasized the importance of public interest, accountability, and transparency in administrative work. The officers also showed keen interest in the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) and monitoring mechanisms for development schemes.

Later, the trainees visited the “Pahari Aangan” event at Bantony Castle and appreciated the local self-help group (SHG) products and women empowerment initiatives. The DC assured that SHG products would also be made available at the Audit Academy as per the officers’ request.

All trainees expressed gratitude for the interaction and were honored with traditional Himachali shawls and caps. The event was also attended by ADC Shimla Abhishek Verma and other district officials.
