Auckland House Boys Dominate HP Zonal Basketball with Twin Titles

Auckland House School Boys, Shimla, left a lasting impression at the CISCE Himachal Pradesh Zonal Basketball Tournament held at Bishop Cotton School on July 12 and 13, emerging as a force to reckon with in school-level sports. The team lifted the championship titles in the Under-17 and Under-19 categories, while also finishing as runners-up in the Under-14 division, proving their consistency across age groups.
The Under-17 final saw Auckland defeating hosts BCS Shimla with a solid 53–36 scoreline. A standout performance came from Jayas Larje, whose quick passes and game awareness gave Auckland the edge throughout the match.
In the Under-19 category, Auckland House displayed unmatched synergy and dominance, trouncing BCS with a commanding 73–32 victory. Sushant, Ishan Rana, Samarth Thakur, Chaitanya Joshi, and Aarhan were instrumental in maintaining control over the court, contributing both defensively and offensively to the win.
Although Auckland Boys fell short in the Under-14 final against BCS after defeating Almighty Public School Hamirpur in the semis, their overall performance earned widespread appreciation from coaches and spectators alike.
The two-day tournament not only celebrated athletic excellence but also underscored the rising basketball culture in Himachal’s educational institutions. Auckland House School’s disciplined training and all-round development approach clearly reflect in their students’ sportsmanship and skill.
