Attempted Theft at Punjab National Bank Branch Near Shimla

In the wee hours of June 22, unidentified individuals attempted to break into a Punjab National Bank branch located near the Small Shimla Secretariat. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the bank premises. Despite their efforts, the thieves did not manage to steal any cash from the bank. The manager of PNB Shimla, Rajesh Bhatia, filed a complaint with the police, who are now examining the CCTV footage to apprehend the culprits. Security measures in the area, which includes both Secretariat staff and security personnel, have come under scrutiny following this incident. SP Shimla, Sanjeev, confirmed that a case has been registered under IPC sections 457, 380, and 511 at the Small Shimla Police Station, and investigations are underway.
