Artists Spread Awareness on SC Welfare Schemes through Songs and Street Plays

Shimla, Sept 17 – As part of a state-wide campaign on Scheduled Caste welfare schemes, cultural troupes of the Information & Public Relations Department organized awareness programs in Shimla district today. Artists from Shiv Ranjani Sanskritik Dal Balag performed in Gram Panchayats Brasli and Samoli (Rohru block), while Pooja Kala Manch Shageen Tara Devi presented shows in Shakarah and Chalog (Tutu block).

Through folk songs and street plays, the teams informed villagers about various government schemes including the Anuvritti Program, Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojana, Housing Grant Scheme, Computer Application Training, Inter-caste Marriage Award, Disability Scholarships, Marriage Assistance, Relief Allowances, and Disability ID cards.

Alongside welfare schemes, special emphasis was laid on social awareness and drug de-addiction. Local panchayat representatives and a large number of villagers actively participated.
