Arki Police Foils Robbery

Solan, September 9, 2023 – A covert police team from the “Khufiya Police” successfully thwarted a robbery attempt and rescued an abducted individual who had been held for ransom amounting to one lakh rupees. The incident took place in the Arki sub-district of Solan, Himachal Pradesh.

On September 6, a group of individuals arrived at the shop of Surendra Kumar in Arki. These individuals claimed to be from the “Khufiya Police Department” and initiated a conversation with one of the shop’s employees, introducing themselves as undercover police officers. Simultaneously, they took control of the cash present in the shop.

Mastaram, an employee at the shop, immediately contacted the shop owner, Surendra Kumar, who rushed to the scene. Upon his arrival, a physical altercation ensued, and he was forcibly taken to a black vehicle. At this point, the culprits demanded a sum of one lakh rupees as ransom. Furthermore, they threatened Surendra Kumar with severe consequences if he reported the incident to anyone.

On September 7, Surendra Kumar complied with the demands and paid the ransom amount of one lakh rupees. However, he was warned not to disclose the incident to anyone, as the culprits threatened to implicate him in false cases if he did.

Upon receiving this information, the Arki Police filed a formal complaint and initiated an investigation. Following swift action, the police apprehended all four culprits, one of whom is a minor. Legal proceedings are underway, with the minor offender being dealt with as per juvenile laws.

The identities of the accused have been confirmed as 43-year-old Hemchand, son of Gouriya Ram; 25-year-old Mohit Sharma, son of Veerendra Kumar; and 40-year-old Ashok Kumar, son of Ram Chand, all residents of the Arki sub-district. Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh has verified these details.
