Apple Transportation Rates Fixed in Shimla District for 2025 Season

Shimla, July 23 – Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has issued a notification fixing the transportation rates for apple boxes during the 2025 apple season in Shimla district. The rates are based on weight and vehicle type, calculated per kilometre/per quintal.
As per the notification:
- ₹0.90/km for trucks to Delhi
- ₹1.30/km for trucks to Chandigarh
- ₹2.30/km for pick-ups up to 20 km
- ₹2.50/km for pick-ups beyond 20 km
- ₹1.30/km for four-wheelers like Tata 407 (Eicher)
The administration has warned that legal action will be taken against any truck, mini truck, or pick-up union/operator charging more than the prescribed rates.
