APG Shimla University’s NSS Volunteers Launch Cleanliness Drive

The NSS volunteers of APG Shimla University organized a one-day cleanliness drive on the university campus and surrounding rural areas on Friday. This campaign inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R.S. Chauhan, who flagged off the volunteers. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. R.S. Chauhan administered the oath of cleanliness to all faculty members, students, research scholars, and sanitation staff, and distributed cleanliness kits. “Cleanliness should be inculcated not only externally but also in our thoughts. Cleanliness programs should not be limited to one day, one week, or one fortnight, but every citizen should take a pledge to maintain cleanliness every day and make it a part of their nature”, said Vice-Chancellor Prof. R.S. Chauhan.
The NSS volunteers not only cleaned the university campus and surrounding rural areas but also interacted with local villagers and made them aware of cleanliness, environmental conservation, and moral values. During this cleanliness drive, the NSS volunteers propagated the message of “Clean India, Healthy India” and emphasized the importance of making cleanliness a part of daily life. This cleanliness drive attended by the APG varsity’s Chancellor Engineer Suman Vikrant, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chauhan, Registrar Dr. Ankit Thakur, Joint Registrar Manish Aggarwal, Dean of Academics Prof. Dr. Anand Mohan Sharma, and Controller of Examinations Dr. Afzal Khan. The Chancellor engineer Suman Vikrant and Pro-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan appreciated the enthusiasm and hard work of the volunteers and said that such social work not only brings positive change in society but also develops a sense of service and leadership among students.
The local villagers and teachers also appreciated the initiative of the NSS team and appealed to continue such awareness campaigns in the future. The NSS volunteers’ initiative presented an excellent example of cleanliness and social service.
