APG Shimla University Hosts Webinar on Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Self-Employment

Shimla, February 22: APG Shimla University, in collaboration with several colleges in Shimla and Solan, organized a one-day webinar on skill development, entrepreneurship, and self-employment. The event, attended by over 2,000 students, aimed to equip participants with the skills required to create their own employment opportunities.

The webinar featured several prominent speakers, including Dr. Monika Baltoo, who emphasized the importance of job-oriented courses in today’s digital age. She encouraged students to acquire practical knowledge and skills to become successful entrepreneurs.

Other speakers, including Shobhana and Palak Bhawta, shared their experiences and insights on entrepreneurship and self-employment. Palak Bhawta, an international online chess coach, spoke about how she turned her passion into a lucrative career, earning lakhs of rupees per month and providing employment opportunities to others.

Ajay Verma, another entrepreneur, shared his experience of running a digital library, providing educational resources to students and earning a good income.

Major Beniwal and Dr. Himansh Sharma, Managing Director of Skill Labs Chandigarh, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of financial education and new-age skills in today’s job market.
The webinar was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. R.S. Chauhan, Vice-Chancellor of APG Shimla University, who highlighted the importance of skill development and entrepreneurship in creating employment opportunities.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. B.R. Chauhan. Dr. BR Chauhan said that such initiative is expected to inspire and equip students with the skills and knowledge required to become successful entrepreneurs and create their own employment opportunities.
