Visits Flood-Hit Villages in Dharampur, Praises Community Aid and BJP Relief Efforts

Mandi, 13 July 2025:
Former Union Minister and MP from Hamirpur, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur visited several disaster-affected villages in Dharampur Assembly constituency, including Sed, Bhadarana, Tanhed, Dharampur Bazaar, Vanal, Syathi, and Paadchu Pul. He met the affected families, consoled them, and reviewed ongoing relief efforts while issuing instructions to officials for swift rehabilitation work.

Thakur expressed deep grief over the losses due to the natural disaster and said, “Losing loved ones or homes is painful beyond words. The Modi government stands firmly with Himachal, and all necessary steps for relief and long-term rehabilitation will be taken without delay.” He stressed that BJP workers and local representatives have been on the ground from day one, ensuring the delivery of food, medicines, utensils, and essential supplies to affected families.

He highlighted the critical role played by the Samsad Mobile Health Service, which has been offering free branded medicines, sanitary pads, over 350 OPDs daily, and distributing around 200 mattresses, ration kits, pressure cookers, and utensils. “We are also preparing 1,000 school bags, each including biscuits, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and separate protein kits for children, all set to be distributed tomorrow,” he added.

Thakur also announced contributions from his MP Fund and MNREGA for restoring damaged infrastructure, including diversion of water channels to protect homes and setting up crate walls after surveys. He urged that central funds, including the ₹2,006 crore recently sanctioned by the Centre, be utilized effectively by the state government.

He reminded that during previous disasters, the Modi government had sanctioned ₹1,300 crore, provided over 93,000 new homes, and stressed that now is the time for service, not politics. “The BJP’s only goal is to ensure basic needs and safety for every affected citizen, from food to shelter,” Thakur affirmed.
