Demands Central Audit

New Delhi / Himachal Pradesh, August 7:
Former Union Minister and MP from Hamirpur, Anurag Singh Thakur, has accused the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government of gross mismanagement of National Health Mission (NHM) funds, drawing attention to serious irregularities flagged by the Himachal High Court in the usage of ₹521 crore allocated for FY 2024-25.

Raising the issue in Lok Sabha under Rule 377, Thakur stated that the state’s affidavit to the High Court lacked any assurance of improvement in rural health infrastructure. Highlighting severe staff shortages, he pointed out that 43 Primary Health Centres still have no doctors despite large-scale transfers and only 11 new appointments.

He further recalled the ₹400 crore Ayushman-Himcare scam reported in April 2025, involving fake claims and data theft, stressing that such repeated irregularities are depriving citizens of their right to healthcare.

Thakur demanded that the Centre conduct a detailed audit of all centrally sponsored and central sector schemes in Himachal Pradesh to expose the truth, ensure accountability, and prevent further misuse of public funds.

“To fulfil the goals of Ayushman Bharat, Himachal deserves transparent and efficient healthcare,” Thakur asserted.
