Anurag Thakur Criticizes Congress for Using Force on Protesters in Sanjauli

1 min read

September 11, 2024, Himachal Pradesh: Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur has condemned the Congress-led government’s use of force against protesters in Sanjauli, resulting in injuries to several Hindu activists. Thakur labeled the action as indicative of the Congress’s “dictatorial attitude.”

Thakur remarked, “The dictatorial nature is ingrained in Congress’s DNA, and what happened in Sanjauli today is extremely unfortunate. The use of baton charges, water cannons, and arresting Hindu activists shows Congress’s oppressive attitude. The image of Himachal has been tarnished nationally. In a healthy democracy, why is the public being restrained from protesting? What crime have Hindu organizations committed that requires such force? Can Hindus not even protest under Congress rule? Once again, Congress’s anti-Sanatana mindset is evident. The brutal police action against Hindu activists by the Congress government is condemnable.”

Thakur further stated, “The new developments in the Sanjauli case need a thorough examination, and the reasons behind them should be fact-checked. The local population’s concerns regarding demographic changes must be taken seriously. Himachal is a peaceful state, and such confrontations are unsettling. Past minor incidents have also led to tensions, and I urge the Congress government to address the Sanjauli issue with utmost sensitivity.”
