Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh (January 24, 2025):
Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur on Friday strongly criticised Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for making what he described as “anti-India statements” during his foreign visits. Thakur alleged that targeting India and its constitutional institutions abroad has become a pattern for Rahul Gandhi, driven by frustration over repeated electoral defeats.
Thakur said that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the country has made significant progress over the past decade by strengthening democratic institutions and enhancing India’s global standing. In contrast, he claimed Rahul Gandhi continues to undermine the nation’s image internationally by questioning the credibility of constitutional bodies such as the Election Commission and the judiciary.
He further stated that political failures of the Congress should not be equated with the failure of the nation, adding that repeated rejection by voters has pushed Rahul Gandhi towards negativity and accusation-based politics. Thakur accused him of attempting to stay in the headlines by attacking democratic institutions rather than engaging in constructive political discourse.
