New Delhi, March 11: BJP MP and former Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi while speaking in Parliament during the debate on the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
Thakur said the opposition, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, has repeatedly targeted constitutional institutions and attempted to tarnish their credibility. Defending the Speaker, he stated that Om Birla’s image is “unblemished” and alleged that the no-confidence motion was brought as part of a political agenda.
He also accused Rahul Gandhi of frequently attacking institutions to remain in the headlines and claimed the opposition was attempting to disrupt parliamentary proceedings instead of participating in constructive debate. Thakur further alleged that the Congress leadership has often questioned democratic processes and constitutional bodies.
The BJP leader asserted that Parliament must function according to established rules and procedures and urged the opposition to respect parliamentary traditions and maintain decorum in the House.
