Anticipatory bail plea of ​​accused of kidnapping and raping victim rejected

District Court Shimla has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of ​​the accused of raping the victim. Refusing to grant anticipatory bail to Surendra, a resident of Panipat, said that serious allegations have been leveled against him. Special Judge POCSO Shimla gave this decision. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 363, 366, 376, 120-B of the Indian Penal Code and sections 4 and 16 of the POCSO Act at Police Station Rohru.

Police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s father. On October 19, 2022, the victim went to school as usual. When she did not return in the evening, the father reported her missing to the police. On November 6, 2022, the police found the victim from Sonipat and handed it over to the family members. Police investigation found that the victim’s friend had hypnotized her and brought her to Chandigarh and then handed her over to the accused.

On October 21, 2022, the accused married the victim and raped her forcefully. The Court, on perusal of the record of the case, observed that serious allegations have been leveled against the accused. Other culprits are yet to be arrested in this case
