AIIMS Bilaspur signed MoU with NIEPVD Dehradun & CRC Sundernagar

Shimla, May 30 – AIIMS Bilaspur signs MoU with National Institute for Empowerment of Person with Visual Disabilities(NIEPVD), Dehradun, Uttarakhand & Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Sundernagar, Mandi (HP) on 30.05.2022. This MoU signed with the motive to initiate collaboration between the institutes for providing quality Medical care and rehabilitative services for the welfare of specially abled persons (Divyangjan) across the states. AIIMS shall provide specialist and super specialist medical care services to specially abled persons at the institute and through outreach camps in the community. NIEPVD, Dehradun & CRC Sundernagar shall help in providing rehabilitative services and assistive devices to the specially abled persons. Teleconsultation services shall also be made available for better coordination between the institutes. Faculty members from these institutes shall exchange their expertise though guest lectures. The institutes shall plan collaborative research to develop innovative, frugal, low-cost tools and technologies to improve quality of life of specially abled persons.

The Executive Director, AIIMS Bilaspur, Prof (Dr)Vir Singh Negi; The Director, NIEPVD, Dehradun, Dr. Himangshu Das along with Additional Professor (Community & Family Medicine) cum coordinator on behalf of Grantor, AIIMS Bilaspur, Dr. Meenal Madhukar Thakare; Assistant Professor (Clinical Psychology) cum Officer Incharge and coordinator on behalf of Grantee, CRC Sundernagar; Dr. Shatrughan Singh signed the MoU. Dean (Academics), AIIMS Bilaspur, Prof (Dr) Sanjay Vikrant; Deputy Director (Admn), AIIMS Bilaspur, Sh. Rakesh Kumar; Assistant Professor (Clinical Psychology), NIEPVD, Dehradun, Dr S. K. Dhalwal; Associate Professor (Neurology) cum officiating Public Relation Officer, AIIMS Bilaspur, Dr. Ashish Sharma; Administrative Officer, CRC Sundernagar, Sh. Sandeep Trivedi and Administrative Officer, AIIMS Bilaspur, Mr Hans Raj Thakur were present on the occasion.

The collaboration is expected to lead to comprehensive health care and rehabilitative services and the development of indigenous innovative, low cost tools and technologies for the benefit of the specially abled persons and improving their quality of life not only in the state of Himachal Pradesh but also adjoining states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand.
