Pritha Doegar, a Class XI Humanities student of Auckland House School, has brought laurels to her institution by winning the Bronze Award in the prestigious Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2025. Her remarkable achievement stands out among a record-breaking 53,434 entries received from 56 member countries of the Commonwealth—a 53 percent increase from 2024.

Pritha’s essay, written for the Senior Category on the theme “Human beings have always needed the connection of literature – its wisdom as well as its sheer escapism.” inspired by a quote from Her Majesty Queen Camilla, reflected deep insight into the transformative power of books and how literature can transport readers on vivid journeys of imagination and emotion.

Her achievement was officially conveyed by Janet Cooper, OBE and a member of the organising committee, who extended warm congratulations and encouraged Pritha to continue sharing her creative voice with the wider Commonwealth community.

Auckland House School takes immense pride in nurturing students to excel in literary and cultural pursuits. The school consistently motivates young writers to explore their creativity and enhance their intellectual curiosity through both national and international platforms. This achievement is a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic development and academic excellence.

Equally commendable is the unwavering support of Pritha’s family, who have provided her with an environment of positivity, encouragement, and personal growth—allowing her creative spirit to flourish.

Pritha’s earlier accomplishments are equally impressive; she has previously won awards at both state and national levels in various notable literary events, further underscoring her dedication and talent as a writer. This recognition at the Commonwealth level marks another proud milestone in her journey as a young creative voice from Himachal Pradesh.
