Advisory: Avoid Pilgrimage to Churdhar Temple in Winter Season
1 min readNahan, January 18: The district administration has issued an advisory urging devotees and tourists to refrain from undertaking the pilgrimage to the renowned religious and tourism destination, Churdhar, in the current winter season. The administration has appealed to the public not to visit Churdhar until further notice due to the challenging weather conditions.
The Churdhar Temple, situated in the Sirmaur district, is currently closed for pilgrimage, and the administration has emphasized the risks and dangers associated with traveling to the temple in the winter season. The temple gates have been closed since December 1, 2023, and are expected to remain shut until April.
SDM Sangrah Sunil Kumar stated that the decision to close the temple during the winter season is primarily due to the possibilities of heavy snowfall, freezing temperatures, and the associated risks that pilgrims and tourists might face on the route.
He further added that violating the orders related to pilgrimage could lead to legal consequences, and strict actions would be taken against those found breaking the rules. The administration aims to ensure the safety of individuals by discouraging travel to Churdhar until conditions improve in the upcoming months.
